Curated Iranian Artist Event | Eveneve x ZANE
At ZANE we recently hosted an event to raise awareness of Iranian culture and artwork. The store was filled with visitors from all walks of life, all eager to learn and engage more about the rich heritage of Iran.
There were so many noteworthy moments that we took away from this experience. Seeing the wonderful installations by Iranian artists was a sight for sore eyes.
The event featured a variety of local Iranian clothing and jewelry by Eveneve, showcasing the diverse talents of Iranian artists.
Great Iranian music along with impeccable food and beverages, adding on to the festive atmosphere and providing a taste of the country's vibrant culture. Just a wholesome experience overall.
And to cap off a wonderful night Zane recited this poem by The Shahnameh or Shahnama is a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi between c. 977 and 1010 CE and is the national epic of Greater Iran. Consisting of some 50,000 "distichs" or couplets, the Shahnameh is one of the world's longest epic poems.
She was a woman as great as any warrior
Shining in battles always
Grabbing her bow she prepared
Her stallion by her side for battle
In their clash of steel, blood, and sweat
Sohrab grabbed and removed her helmet with haste
Her hair was set free from her helmet
Her face shone like a splendid sun
Stunned and ama zed, sohrab and all the men
How can the Persians have such incredible women
The great wise maester said to die for your belief
Is better than to live in defeat
Iran will never be in ruins
Or a land where wild animals freely roam
The event was super successful and gave everyone a deeper appreciation of Iranian culture and art. It was the perfect opportunity for the community to come together and learn more about this amazing part of the world.
